What was your favourite part about performing the role of the ‘cook’ in the Sydney season of Alice’s Adventure In Wonderland?

Apart from being able to hold a weapon on stage (and people trusting me with it), I’d say being able to act crazy onstage! I’ve also loved the process of Cook, like trying to find my own interpretation of her character, as everyone plays her so differently! Also discovering the tooth enamel so I could black out my teeth was definitely a highlight!

What advice would you give aspiring young dancers?

Have fun, and no one else in the world can dance like you. I always found it hard not to compare myself to others (especially when I did competitions), but once you realise that your dancing is unique and no one else can replicate it, it’s a game changer. Also a ballet career is so short, have fun with it. It won’t last forever.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

During show season I never really get enough time to do anything outside of work (because I’m always trying to recover!), but I always find a few things that I enjoy! I love to spend time with my beautiful cat named Jiji, and if I’m having a lazy day at home I might play my Bratz game or try and read a book. I love to spend time with my friends, whether that’s a picnic or exploring new bars or restaurants.

What are five  essential items for your ballet bag?

Apart from my shoes, my dermal therapy lip balm, leg warmers, a water bottle, a theraband and pink sparkly crocs!

What’s your dream role to perform?

I have too many! I’m someone that wants to give everything a go, so I can’t decide.
